SUNKWH Project Showcase | Another Campus PV Project by Energy Successfully Connected to the Grid
Solar Panels on Campus, Green Power in Schools. In recent years, the Education Department of Guangdong Province has been actively promoting the construction of distributed photovoltaic (PV) systems on campuses.

Guided by the green concept of “installing wherever feasible,” the department is driving the “PV + Campus” model to take root. Recently, a 710 kW PV project at Lecong Second Experimental School, constructed by SUNKWH in partnership with Foshan Shunde Lexin Urban Service Co., Ltd., was officially connected to the grid and put into operation, bringing solar green power to the school’s rooftops.

Located in Shunde District, Foshan, Lecong Second Experimental School currently has 46 classes and over 2,200 students. It has been awarded numerous honors, including Guangdong Green School, Guangdong Demonstration Teacher Education Practice Base, and Foshan Moral Education Featured School, earning it the reputation of a “pastoral campus in the city.”
To meet the school’s green electricity needs, the SUNKWH team designed an integrated solution based on the campus’s available public spaces and sunlight conditions. The project adopts a low-profile concrete ballast racking system with 100×50mm uprights. The total height of the racking is strictly kept below the campus parapet walls, ensuring both safety and aesthetic harmony. With a total installed capacity of 710 kW and a coverage area of about 2,900 square meters, the system is equipped with 1,084 LONGi 655W high-efficiency modules, maximizing the use of rooftop space.

Furthermore, the project operates on a “self-consumption with surplus fed to the grid” model. With a green power self-consumption rate exceeding 50%, it effectively covers the electricity needs for classroom lighting, air conditioning, and laboratories. Surplus power is fed into the grid to generate additional revenue. It is estimated that the system will save 55,000 RMB in electricity bills annually, effectively revitalizing rooftop resources and achieving both economic and environmental benefits.

Beyond the tangible financial returns, this Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) “PV + Campus” model helps insulate and cool the teaching buildings. It also integrates low-carbon education into the green classroom, transforming the PV array into a “real-world classroom” and promoting the coordinated development of campus construction, ecological protection, and quality education.
With 18 years of deep expertise in the solar and energy storage industry, SUNKWH continues to provide stable and reliable energy solutions for its clients. In recent years, SUNKWH has collaborated closely with numerous schools, facilitating the successful implementation of multiple campus PV projects. By illuminating classrooms with sunlight and supporting environmental protection through action, SUNKWH is building zero-carbon campuses from the rooftops up, empowering education with energy conservation and environmental sustainability.
