Project Showcase丨549 kW Rooftop Solar Project Powers Qigong Group’s Green Manufacturing
Qigong Group’s new 549 kW rooftop solar power station has been successfully put into operation. Designed and built by Photosynthetic Energy, the project turns unused factory roof space into a source of clean electricity, helping the company reduce energy costs and support low-carbon manufacturing.
Like many advanced manufacturing companies, Qigong Group operates highly automated production lines with strong daytime electricity demand. Rooftop solar is an ideal solution for this type of operation: it generates power when the factory needs it most and reduces reliance on traditional grid electricity.
Efficient Use of Roof Space
The project is located in Xiqiao, Foshan, and uses a frame-mounted installation system with 845 high-efficiency 650W solar modules. The design makes effective use of the available roof area while ensuring stable long-term power generation.
Supporting Daytime Production
The factory’s intelligent workshop consumes a large amount of electricity during daytime production. The solar system can supply around 50,000 kWh of the factory’s 100,000 kWh monthly electricity consumption.
Using a self-generation and self-consumption model, the system is expected to generate about 600,000 kWh of clean electricity annually. This reduces the factory’s dependence on grid power and helps lower overall electricity costs.
